Arm Lift

Arm Lift

Have you quit wearing sleeveless tops, but wish you still could? Has the skin under your arm become loose and flabby no matter how many weights you lift? Or, have you recently lost a lot of weight and have excess skin under your arms? An arm lift, or brachioplasty, can help tighten this skin and make you feel more youthful.

What is an Arm Lift?

An arm lift procedure, also known as a brachioplasty, is the surgical removal of excess skin and fat in order to reshape the upper arms. Sometimes, an arm lift is done in conjunction with liposuction.

Procedure Information

  1. What are my first steps?
A consultation with one of the physicians at the Plastic Surgery Center is your essential first step to learn how an arm lift can improve the appearance of your arms. If you're ready to discuss your arm lift in more detail, call us at 316.688.7500 or request your consultation online today.
  2. Where will my surgery be performed?
Your surgery may be performed in our accredited ambulatory surgical suite or a hospital. The decision for anesthesia will be based on requirements of your specific procedure and considerations of your preference as well as your surgeon's. At the Plastic Surgery Center, your safety and comfort are very important. Your surgeon will give you certain preoperative care instructions. While we have included some on our website, they are not a substitute for your physician's instructions.
  3. Arm Lift Recovery Time and Expectations
During the healing process, you can expect some swelling that can be controlled with medication. You may also experience tightness in your upper arm. Your physician will provide you with more specific post op and scar care instructions. We have included some basic instructions on our website, but they should not be a substitute for your physician's specific guidelines.
  4. After Your Arm Lift
The results of your arm lift surgery are almost immediately noticeable and will last a long time as long as you maintain a stable weight and general fitness. As your body ages, it is natural to lose some firmness, but most of your improvement should be relatively permanent.
