You may see signs of aging on your face in the form of wrinkles,
fine lines, furrows, and the sagging of the chin and jowls. The loss of youthful
contours on your face is due to several factors
including heredity, gravity and environmental conditions and stress.
A face lift, or rhytidectomy, provides the ultimate facial rejuvenation and the most dramatic results giving your face a tighter, more youthful look. A face lift corrects sagging facial skin and muscles, removes excess fat and restores firmness.
What is a Facelift?
A facelift is a highly individualized surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck. A face lift can only be performed surgically; non-surgical rejuvenation treatments may help delay the time at which a face lift becomes appropriate. A face lift will not change your basic appearance, but it will restore it to a younger version of itself that will continue to age naturally over time.
Facelift Procedure
Your surgeon will give you certain preoperative care instructions. While we have included some on our website, they should not be a substitute for your physician's instructions. Eyelid surgery is sometimes performed in conjunction with a face lift.

The decision for anesthesia will be based on requirements of your specific procedure and considerations of your preference as well as your surgeon's. At the Plastic Surgery Center, your safety and comfort are very important.
Facelift Recovery Time and Expectations
Your physician will provide you with more specific post op instructions - follow them carefully. We have included some basic instructions on our website, but they should not be a substitute for your specific guidelines.
Initial healing will include swelling and may include numbness and discomfort that can be controlled with medication. Your skin may look bruised. You should keep your head elevated until the swelling has subsided. You will be ready to return to work and light, normal activity sometime between 2 - 4 weeks. Makeup can camouflage any bruising or redness that remains. Healing will continue for at least several more weeks. You must practice diligent sun protection.
After the Facelift
It may take several months for your swelling to completely stop and up to six months for your incision lines to fade. You should always use sun protection to help maintain your rejuvenated appearance by minimizing sun damage. Most patients will find the benefits of their face lift are long lasting, even as they continue to age.
*Some restrictions may apply on the complimentary consultation. Does not apply to insurance funded surgeries.
