If you’ve been dreaming of a curvier backside, you’ve probably researched the Brazilian Butt Lift. Many patients wish they had more curves on their derriere, making this a procedure that continues to rise in popularity.
We find that patients have a lot of questions about the Brazilian Butt Lift, so let’s look at a few of them.
What is the Brazilian Butt Lift?
This procedure is for patients who want to improve the contour, size, and/or shape of their buttocks. We do this procedure using specialized fat transfer techniques.
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a two-step process. First, we use liposuction to obtain the donor fat. Typically, we get this from the tummy or waist. The fat is then purified and used to contour the patient’s buttocks. The results are natural looking.
At the Plastic Surgery Center, many of our patients appreciate the additional bonus of improved contours in other places on the body as well. For example, we often take donor fat from a patient’s abdomen and back to use on the buttocks. This means in addition to improved bottom curves, patients see more definition on the tummy, waist, and back from the liposuction.
Is the Brazilian Butt Lift Safe?
Because the demand for this surgery is so high, many surgeons perform this procedure without being uniquely qualified. In addition, many people are drawn in by low prices and false advertisements. Unfortunately, these surgeons have caused untold harm, complications, and even death.
Taking fat from one spot and putting it somewhere else is a complex procedure. You can count on your safety when your Brazilian Butt Lift is performed by a board certified plastic surgeon with years of schooling and experience. So, the procedure is safe when done properly.

Real Patients. Real Results.
Our real plastic surgery patient had a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and Liposuction on her stomach and back. She tells us that having her new body is life changing, and she’s so glad she did it.
Tell us about your journey to a BBL and liposuction:
PSC Patient: I’ve had three kids and always exercised, but after my pregnancies, my upper body and waist seemed to get bigger. I’ve never had a big bottom, so I felt out of proportion. I went in for a consultation thinking I would get the Brazilian Butt Lift, and I learned they needed to transfer fat from somewhere to my bum, so I had liposuction on my waist, tummy and back. All of this was designed to give me better proportions.
How did you feel after the procedures?
PSC Patient: It really wasn’t too bad because I took my pain meds and followed my instructions. I was up and around about a week after my procedures. I couldn’t sit on my bottom, which was hard, but I found a special pad I could sit on to drive which really helped.
When did you notice your results?
PSC Patient: I noticed a difference right away even though there was swelling on my bum and waist. At my check up, I really noticed a difference, and now at six months post op, I look amazing.
Are you happy with your results?
PSC Patient: Yes! It is the best decision I’ve ever made. I would definitely do it again. I feel so much better and look great. I’m in my 30s and a size smaller. I am even wearing crop tops now. My wardrobe went from loose baggy clothes to fitted clothes. The added bonus of the waist contouring made me look even better than I imagined.
Do you have advice for people considering a BBL and liposuction?
PSC Patient: Go for it. It is absolutely life changing. It’ll boost your self esteem just like it did mine!
