How It Works
Many women wish their breasts were a different size or a different shape. If you want to enhance your figure, improve your self image, and boost your self-confidence, a breast augmentation surgery may be right for you.
One of the most popular procedures, breast augmentation (often called a boob job) is a surgical procedure that increases the size of your breasts and enhances your shape, most commonly with the insertion of an implant. Breast augmentation can enlarge your breasts and increase fullness and projection.
As an alternative to implants, we also offer fat grafting to enhance breast size, called “natural breast augmentation” or “autologous augmentation.” We can use fat from another part of your body (most commonly, the abdomen) and transfer it to the breasts to enhance size and shape.
We also offer the GalaFlex mesh, also known as the “internal bra” for added support of breast implants. This “internal bra” can help maintain upper and medial breast fullness for a longer time.
Breast augmentation surgery can:
- Increase fullness and projection of your breasts, in particular at the top and middle portion of the breast
- Enlarge a naturally small breast
- Improve balance of breast and hip contours
- Restore volume to breasts after weight loss or pregnancy
- Leave patients with well-rounded, better shaped breasts
- Achieve better symmetry when breasts are disproportionate in size and shape
- Enhance your self-image and self-confidence
Breast Augmentation Steps
- Schedule your consultation with one of our plastic surgeons
- Discuss your goals for the appearance of your breasts.
- Review implant vs. fat grafting options to determine which is best for you. Discuss your surgery, your incision location, and your recovery period.
- Try on implant sizers to see what the implant will look and feel like in clothing.
- Visualize your new shape with the help of Crisalix 3D imaging, a virtual simulator which models what you would look like with different breast implant sizes and profiles.
- Schedule your surgery.
- You will have anesthesia, usually general, so you will be fully asleep.
- Incisions are made in inconspicuous areas to minimize visible scarring. After we make the incision, we’ll place your implants. Placement location (submuscular or subglandular) depends on the type of implant, your desired size and look, your body type, and our recommendations.
- We’ll close the incisions, and you’ll head to recovery room.
- During your recovery, your breasts will be padded with gauze and placed in a support bra. This helps minimize swelling and support the breasts as they heal.
- Your results are immediately visible. The final results may take a few months, as the swelling subsides and your skin relaxes.
Visualize Your Results with Crisalix 3D Imaging
We offer the unique opportunity to virtually model what you’ll look like after breast augmentation surgery, using Crisalix 3D imaging.
You can also could try on “sizers” in our office to simulate different sizes of implants and get inspiration from our before and after photo gallery. Additionally, with the assistance of Crisalix 3D, we can show women how their surgery might turn out.
Crisalix 3D imaging takes 3D photos of you, and it simulates different sizes, types and shapes of implants. You now can see whether your chosen size and shape will look perfect on your body type. What’s more, you can more accurately tell us about the look you want. Crisalix helps give you more confidence in your choice of breast implants.
Visualize Your Results with Crisalix 3D Imaging
Crisalix is a very helpful tool that our patients love. Some of the things you can learn through 3D imaging include:
- You can see what your breasts, areolas, and skin will look like after your breast augmentation.
- You can explore different implant volumes. For example, you can see what you’d look like with 200cc compared to 400cc.
- You can view yourself with low, medium, high, and extra high profiles.
- You can see yourself with clothing or without, standing, sitting, laying down, and even running.
- You can virtually try on both silicone and saline implants, round and tear-drop shaped implants. You can even compare insertion methods.
- You can see correction of asymmetry or what a breast lift would look like.
- You can even see how scars will evolve over time.
So, if your question is, “How will these implants look on me,” we can now answer it for you!
Please note that simulated results are an approximation, and not a 100% guarantee of result.
