Chest Masculinization at Plastic Surgery Center
The goal of transmasculine top surgery (chest masculinization) is to remove the breast tissue from both of your breasts.
This, in turn, creates a masculine appearance to your chest, helping you establish your masculine identity and feel more confident in your own skin. Anyone seeking chest masculinization in Wichita is welcome at Plastic Surgery Center.
The procedure generally takes about two hours, and you can expect a downtime of one-two weeks. After 6 weeks, you’ll be back to your normal activities.

How It Works
The goal of transmasculine top surgery is to remove the breast tissue (mastectomy) from both breasts and create a masculine appearance to the chest.
Top surgery is usually performed as a single-stage procedure. We perform a mastectomy to remove your breast tissue. Occasionally we need to remove excess skin. After we have removed the breast tissues, we reposition the remaining tissue to create a masculine contour to your chest. Sometimes, we need to reposition and reduce your areola after the mastectomy to simulate a more masculine chest and nipple position.
There are many techniques used to perform chest masculinization, and we consider many factors when choosing which technique is best:
- Amount of breast tissue and fat
- Amount of excess skin
- Preference for scar placement
- Desire for nipple appearance
