How It Works
CO2 Laser resurfacing removes the outer layer of damaged skin and stimulates collagen production.
We offer 2 types of CO2 resurfacing at the Plastic Surgery Center:
- Fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing, which is usually applied to the face only and can only be performed by a physician.
- Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, which is a less powerful treatment, but has a speedier recovery and is safe for the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. This treatment is offered by our aestheticians at PSC Aesthetics.
These lasers can treat a wide range of skin imperfections on your face, neck, décolletage, and hands. They can be used to lighten deep wrinkles and scars due to acne or burns.
They can also improve your skin tone and texture, reduce pigmentation, and tighten your skin. The ablative CO2 laser is commonly used to treat wrinkle under your eyes (peri-orbital) and around your lips (peri-oral).
Your recovery time after your CO2 laser resurfacing depends on the type and depth of laser used.
